Poster Analysis 2.

The Last Exorcism

-The lack of colour in this poster shows that the film will be a dark one and the red has connotations of evil/blood.
-The main figure in this poster is off a girl in a deformed/possessed position which shows this to be a horror movie.
-I would say that this is intended for a late teenage earlier twenties audience and also people who are fans of horror movies.
-The conventions of the horror genre used on this are the use of red, the possessed girl and the cross just above her.
-The unique selling point on this poster is the naming of Eli Roth as the director as he is synonymous with the horror genre.
-The girl in a unusual position grabs the audience’s attention as it is not of the ordinary.
- I would say that this poster was quite cheap to make as it could easily be a still from the movie with some graphic altercations.
-I think this poster does well to communicate to its audience what genre the movie is.
-The use of the cross in this above the possessed girl could be seen as offensive to some people.
