Poster Analysis 4.

Inception:

-The poster uses mostly dark shades to reflect the serious tone of the movie.
- The upside down street in this poster emphasise the feeling of a dream like state and also shows the psychological element to the movie.
-Leonardo’s name on the poster is much bigger than that of the other stars as he is more known and will have a bigger pre-determined audience, also his face in the poster is the only one facing towards the audience which makes him instantly recognisable, the fact that he is placed in the middle makes him instantly stand out amongst the others.
-The flying debris everywhere in this poster shows the destruction and action through the movie as does the big explosion in the background.
-The use of the red title connotes danger and action.
-The use of guns in the poster shows the audience that there will be action throughout the movie.
-Using the success of the director’s movie is used as a unique selling point as are the naming of various stars.
-The tagline introduces the idea of dreams and questioning reality, also adding to the psychological side.
-Naming the IMAX as a place to watch the movie will attract more people as it adds to the cinema experience.
-This poster is very well laid out with amazing graphics that show this to be a high concept movie also communicating successful to the target audience which I would guess to be mostly male.
-This poster looks like it was expensive to produce with the amount of graphics used throughout it.
